AFDT is delighted to offer our Histocompatibility Specialist Course again this year! The curriculum is designed for senior technologists and new laboratory directors to raise the standards of practice in clinical histocompatibility testing by promoting excellence in clinical laboratory medicine and providing a fundamental educational program to prepare for the ACHI CHS or Diplomate certification.

Registration Fees per participant is $1,600 USD (includes syllabus, breakfast, lunch, breaks and one dinner with sponsors)
Online registration accepted only via Credit Card (no checks accepted). Hotel and travel arrangements and their costs will be the responsibility of the course participants. Onsite material and badge pick up will occur on Sunday, June 5 from 5-8 pm and will resume on Monday, June 6 at 7 am. The course will end on Friday, June 10 at 5 pm. Registration to close on Friday, May 13 at 11:59 pm ET.

Located in the city’s Lloyd District, the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center anchors Portland’s convention package. It’s near the MODA Center and several transportation centers providing visitors with quick access to downtown Portland, the central eastside and the airport.

Single/Double Occupancy: $184/night plus 15.3% tax
Triple Occupancy: $199/night plus 15.3% tax

The curriculum is designed for senior technologists and new laboratory directors to raise the standards of practice in clinical histocompatibility testing by promoting excellence in clinical laboratory medicine and providing a fundamental educational program to prepare for the ACHI CHS or Diplomate certification.
By the end of the course, the successful student will:
- Recall important topics in histocompatibility science;
- Analyze disparate sets of data to arrive at a decision about a clinical test result; and
- Relate covered topics to clinical histocompatibility testing.
Each student will receive a comprehensive course syllabus containing:
- Lecture summaries/outlines
- Procedures with applications
- References and bibliography
Course presentation will be in didactic and interactive discussion format. The curriculum focus is on histocompatibility testing:
- Theory and principle
Technologist in Histocompatibility Testing, with a minimum (3) years working experience and/or a formal course in immunology or genetics; or a new laboratory director; and active ASHI membership (recommended).
This course will have a limited number of registrants; early registration is recommended.
